Our Mayor

Mayor Monica Jefferson

Greetings Greendale Residents! I am Monica Jefferson, your new mayor. I would like to start off by saying that I consider it to be an honor and a privilege to serve as Mayor to a city that I love dearly.

I would like to share a little bit about me. I moved to Greendale in January, 1996. I reside in Greendale with my son William. I recently retired 6/30/21 from Special School District (SSD). I spent 24 years there serving as a Speech & Language Pathologist and my last four years as full-time release President of the Teachers’ Association, Special School District

National Education Association (SDNEA).

I frequently walk our wonderful neighborhood. I hope to meet many of you during my walks. I look forward to working with our alderpersons, Jane

Kayser, Nellie Quinn, and Deborah Shackleford and our City Administrator, Jackie Payton to keep Greendale a strong and vibrant community.

We need another alderperson for our city. If you would like to know more about the position, please contact us at city hall 314-383-2577. Please know that myself and the alderpersons look forward to meeting you and your family and hearing any thoughts and/or concerns that you may have. We plan on having a meet and greet soon for us to get to know each of you. A date for that event will be announced soon.

Be well.
